Weather

It is fairly cold living in the taiga, particularly during the winter. The winters consist of lots of snow and cold winds that blow in from the Arctic. Some animals will hibernate during winter, travel south where it is warmer, or simply stay put. The taiga is the land biome with one of the lowest yearly average temperatures. Drastic winters can reach lower temperatures than that of the tundra and there are fewer hours of sunlight during the day. The average temperature range for the winter is -54 degrees Celsius to -1. Throughout the majority of the taiga, an average winter day temperature would be -20 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, during the summer, the days are warmer, humid, and rainy. Additionally, this season is short and the days contain many hours of sunlight, sometimes up to 20 hours. The average temperature range during the summer can get as low as -7 degrees Celsius during nighttime and up to 30 degrees Celsius during the day. An average summer day temperature would be 18 degrees Celsius.
